World Thinking Day Fee determined by service unit
Fees include personnel, activity supplies, and 4 meals and 3
snacks.
Each year on 22 February, Girl Guides and Girl Scouts all
over the world celebrate World Thinking Day.
World Thinking Day was first created in 1926 at the
fourth Girl Guide/Girl Scout International Conference,
held at Girl Scouts of the USA’s Camp Edith Macy (now called
Edith Macy Conference Center). Conference attendees decided
that there should be a special day when Girl Scouts and Girl
Guides all around the world think of each other and give
thanks and appreciation to their "sister" Girl Guides and
Girl Scouts.
Help your service unit plan Thinking Day 2009. See your
Service Unit Chair for details.

and abilities. Do you have a special talent? Let us know if
you or someone you know are an electrician, plumber, or

Due to the activities being outdoors in an open environment,
we ask that children under the age of 5 and those who need

LIT/CIT
$15/girl No Adults
Fee includes personnel, materials, and meals.
This training prepares Senior Girl Scouts 14-17 to take a
basic leadership role in guiding a group of younger girls in
partnership with a mentor leader or camp director, and will
enable her to become an integral part of the troop or group
she is working with. Any registered Senior Girl Scout 14-17
who has completed ninth grade for LIT or 10th grade for CIT
may attend. The Leader in Training/Counselor in Training
Core Course is approximately 10 hours long. Senior Girl
Scouts working with younger girls in a troop or with girls
in a camp setting require the same fundamental understanding
of Girl Scouting as well as skills to implement program
activities effectively. CITs will participate in an
internship week at camp, but LITs will complete their
internship working with a troop/group. Both LITs and CITs
must observe a troop, group, or camp unit of younger girls
before starting their internship assignments. After
completing the 25 hours of service with a troop of younger
girls, LITs can extend their service to a full year and
become a Senior Girl Scout Troop Assistant with no further
training required.
Please see the training section for complete details.
